The award-winning show, produced by CRE8IV Theatre Company, took place over the February half-term at the Blackpool Grand Theatre following its highly successful Lancashire debut in 2023.
iMEP, who recently launched an exciting new re-brand, were brought in to fully manage the event production for the musical, in what was another turnkey operation including sound, lighting, special effects and set design.
Based on the hit 2003 film School of Rock featuring Jack Black, the musical follows Dewey Finn as he turns a class of straight A students into a rock band as they prepare to win the Battle of the Bands contest.
The sell-out show has received fantastic reviews, with one on the Blackpool Gazette from Lucinda Herbert saying: “Produced by Cre8iv Theatre Company, this was an incredibly well put-together and professional show, from the realistic set designs, to the lighting and effects.”
Eddy O’Brien, CEO of iMEP, said: “It was a great pleasure to be involved in the Blackpool premiere of such an iconic musical.
“Being a musical, the event required careful attention to detail on every aspect of the show including the lighting, sound, special effects and set design. As a team we worked incredibly hard over the course of the event and I am extremely proud of what we achieved.”
Offering everything from lighting, sound, staging and special effects, to fully managed music and theatre event production, iMEP regularly work with stars around the world including Ed Sheeran, John Bishop, Chris Brown and many more.
They also recently donated thousands of pounds worth of auction prizes for the Mayor’s Charity Ball in Hyndburn, including football hospitality at Old Trafford and concert tickets at the AO Arena.
