Accrington Stanley Women will take part in three Lancashire FA County Cup finals after their U18, U16 and U13 sides secured semi-final victories.
The U18s, sponsored by Filter Fabrications, defeated Fleetwood Town Juniors U18 Vipers Girls with goals coming from player of the match Melissa A, Millie D, Maisy D and Ruby D. They will now take on Fleetwood Town Juniors in the Lancashire FA U18 Girls Youth Cup final on Saturday 10th February at The County Ground, Leyland (KO 1pm).
Continuing the club’s success, Accrington Stanley Women U16s, sponsored by Accrington & Rossendale College, secured a 2-0 win against Wigan. Player of the match Lucy R and Freya S got on the scoresheet, as the U16s set up a final showdown with Burnley or Bolton on Sunday 10th March.
Stanley Women’s hat-trick of finals was confirmed when their U13s side, sponsored by BMP Europe Ltd, beat Myserscough 3-0 in a repeat of last year’s Lancashire FA U13 Girls Youth Cup final. They will look to retain their trophy, when they face Blackpool or Wigan on Sunday 12th May.
Accrington Stanley Women’s first team currently sit second in the North West Womens Regional League – Division One North, but saw their league match with Workington Reds Ladies postponed on Sunday due to bad weather.
Kristian Perry’s side will turn their attentions to cup action in a couple of weeks, when they take on Darwen FC Women at the Wham Stadium. The game, on Sunday 11th February, is a 2pm kick off and tickets are available to book in advance, for free, here: https://forms.office.com/e/yPc8Cfb9ci
