#AmazingAccrington are working in partnership with local businesses and the Job Centre to host a Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair on Friday 17th June at Accrington Town Hall from 10am – 2pm, a hugely successful event last held in 2019.
It has been announced that the event will be sponsored by Studio Retail Ltd and the event is set to be bigger and better than ever before. The event is open to anyone of any age, who may be looking for employment, thinking about doing an apprenticeship or training, or looking for career advice. The event provides the opportunity to find out more about jobs and apprenticeships, directly from employers and training providers.
Employers from a diverse range of fields in attendance include Townfield Care, Fagan and Whalley and the Ministry of Defence, while training advice is on offer from local training provider North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) amongst others. The Job Centre team will also be on hand to offer advice and opportunities.
Collette King, HR Director, Studio Retail, said: “Studio is the largest employer in the borough, and we are always on the lookout for new talent. We offer a lot of opportunities for a wide range of careers that people may not have thought of, such as IT and design, and we’re looking forward to meeting with people on the day to explain more!”
Gareth Lindsay, Managing Director, North Lancs Training Group, added, “We have over 300 vacancies live on our website for apprenticeships in lots of different areas, from hospitality to furniture making. We look forward to having a chat with people at the event to help them decide on their future!”
Michael Timmins, Director of Townfield Care, commented: “We have open vacancies for immediate start all over the area, and we offer full training so you don’t need experience. We can organise routes for people who don’t have a car – it’s great to be able to talk to people face to face and encourage them to join us.”
