Saturday 1st September will be a full day of family fun in Accrington Town Centre and Accrington and Rossendale College!
With various events taking place at several locations throughout Accrington, the FREE event is set to be huge, with thousands expected to attend.
The new town square will be alive with chocolate pizza, chocolate cocktails and chocolate pie, along with stalls and events inside the Town Hall from 10am and will also be host to one-of-a-kind vehicles: Hippo’s Skoda R5 Rally Car a 1981 Range Rover Fleetline Police Vehicle and a Peugeot T16 Group B Rally Car plus others.
Visitors will be also entertained by LIVE rally car demonstrations throughout the day at Accrington and Rossendale College, the town’s first ever Soapbox Challenge, live music, unique entertainment and meet and greets with Oompa Loompas!
Event organisers, Scott Dawson Advertising in partnership with Hyndburn Borough Council, have joined forces with sponsors: Property Shop, Emerson and Renwick and Hippo Motor Group, to ensure an amazing day is had by all.
Steven Chippendale, Joint Managing Director of Chocolate Festival sponsor, Property Shop, commented:
“It’s really important to us all at Property Shop to be involved with the local community, supporting events going on in the town and sponsorship is a huge part of that. The Chocolate Festival will be the first one to take place in Accrington – we have seen the success of food festivals here in the past and we wholeheartedly expect this to be just as busy!”
Ben Clements, Managing Director of Soapbox Challenge sponsor, Emerson and Renwick, commented:
“What an exciting venture to be involved in! It’s going to be a fantastic day full of family fun, so we are incredibly proud to be sponsoring the Soapbox Challenge. We’ve had some wonderful updates from the people taking part in the Soapbox race with images of their vehicles. We are really urging people to come and enjoy the many events going on, on the day!”
Tom Preston, Managing Director of Rally Challenge sponsor, Hippo Motor Group commented:
“I will be bringing along one of my own Skoda Fabia R5 Rally cars that I used recently in a race in Barbados! It’s going to be on display on the new Town Square. Being sponsor for the Rally Challenge is a very personal thing for me. I’m really looking forward to engaging with the local community and creating a buzz at the college with the live rally demonstrations taking place throughout the day!
