CHILDREN across Hyndburn have the chance to design a Christmas card in a competition being run by Accrington Market Hall.
Christmas is on its way and Accrington Market Hall are giving children the chance to win an early Christmas present, thanks to the sponsorship of Walker Wise Solicitors based in Accrington.
Will you be the creator of the new fresh festive design that wins Accrington Market’s 2017 Christmas card competition? Grab your crayons, colouring pencils and felt tips and GET CREATIVE. Bring your imagination to life to design a magical Christmas card that is sure to be cherished by all of your family and friends.
Councillor, Clare Cleary, Cabinet Member for Accrington Town Centre, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children and their families to visit Accrington’s amazing Market and Market Hall in the up to the Christmas period. We wanted to do something which was fun for children and to put something on that everyone would enjoy. I would like to wish all the entrants good luck and we look forward to displaying all the card designs in Accrington Market.”
This year’s first prize winner will have 50 copies of their winning design professionally printed as well as receiving £50 cash. There will also be two runner-up prizes of a cool candy hamper and 20 printed copies of your design.
Almost 10,000 entry forms have been sent out to primary schools across the borough so that every child has the chance to join in. Last year was a great success seeing over 400 entries!
Completed entries must be received by November 25 to be eligible to win. They can be hand-delivered to The Market Office in Accrington Market Hall or you can pop it in the post and address it to: The Market Office, Accrington Market Hall, Peel Street, Accrington BB5 1ER.
Prize winners will be notified before November 30 and invited on to the stage at the countdown to fireworks event to be presented with their prizes and cards.
All entries will make a colourful Christmas card display in the busy Market Hall in December, so your creation will be seen by many people visiting the wide variety of stalls in the market.
This Design a Christmas Card Competition is just a small portion of festive fun taking place in the borough this year – November 30 will see the night sky above Accrington lit up in a riot of colour for the annual firework event. Be sure to save the date!
