Townfield Care, a family run business for almost 30 years, are celebrating after purchasing a 40-bed care home.
Sitting opposite The Spread Eagle Inn, on the bank of the River Ribble, you would struggle to find a more idyllic spot suited to retirement than Ribble Valley Care Home, Sawley.
Currently offering an exceptional standard of care in their existing care homes in Hyndburn and throughout the East Lancashire community, Townfield Care have taken on the existing business. They will be providing the first residential dementia care service in the Ribble Valley.
John Timmins, Joint Managing Director of Townfield Care said:
“We want to bring everything we have learnt over the years at our existing care homes and provide that exceptional care here in the Ribble Valley. We will be investing and working hard to re-connect with the local people to improve the level of care provided, it is important for the community and we want to be part of it.”
The decision to purchase Ribble Valley Care Home, surrounded by greenery, wildlife and situated just off the A59 was due to demand. There has been huge growth within Townfield Care and a need for quality social care in the area, which has now expanded into the Ribble Valley from their original Hyndburn base.
Ribble Valley Care Home boasts 40 beds, 16 in the main house and 24 beds in the court.
John continued:
“It’s a stunning location, with the River Ribble in earshot and on the border of South Yorkshire it’s ideal. We are rural, yet easy to travel to with local amenities close by. We will be focussing on investing in the facility and providing the fantastic care team which we have taken on with the correct equipment and skills, to provide the very best of care and support.
We currently employ over 200 people and are seeking night staff and catering staff for this location, as well as many other roles across the company both in residential care and community care. As always, service is key. My vision is for exceptional health and social care, we look after residents like we would look after our own parents.”
