The £2M project, due for completion early next year is set to increase participation in sport within Hyndburn – providing equal opportunities and raising awareness of key health incentives.
Readstone Construction, the main contractor of the development site is set to start ground work on the 17thJune
Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council said:
“The giant temporary sign, which was put in place this week has already gained attention from local people and businesses and is a symbol of the great things to come, showing the public visuals of the completed site. It’s a very exciting time and we are counting on the support of local residents to assist us in making the construction as seamless as possible.
We are aware that vandalism to Reedstone Construction’s equipment has happened since the fences were erected. It is disappointing that individuals have acted this way, we really do want to emphasise the fencing is there for safety and security, to protect children and residents from the imminent construction work.
The facility is aiming to serve all of Hyndburn and will be a wonderful, indispensable part of the community once finished.”
Sponsorship opportunities announced
Martin Fearon, CEO of Accrington Stanley Community Trust, is urging businesses who want to sponsor the new development to get in touch quickly.
“We are a non-profit registered charity and have seen rapid growth over the last few years. In the last 12 months over 17,000 people have engaged in our projects and we have invested over £400K into the community. We predict over 150,000 visits per year to the sports hub, for a wide range of activities alongside sport, such as education and events.
We rely solely on grants and sponsorship to deliver this vital work. The community sports hub development is a great opportunity for local businesses to get involved and give back whilst raising their own brand awareness.
Currently we have sponsorship opportunities available for a variety of budgets, from £500 for a perimeter board, £1,500 for a variety of different rooms in the building, to £20,000 for the main Sports Hub! We have appointed Murray Dawson, MD at Scott Dawson Advertising to manage the sponsorships.
Although the sponsorship won’t start until January, the main sponsor of the Sports Hub will be on the signage right away which is a great bonus. If anyone is interested, please do get in touch with Murray asap as we are operating on a first come first served basis.”
