Townships will be sparkling soon, with the switching on of thousands of Christmas lights across the borough, heralding the start of a programme of festive events for all the family to enjoy.
Accrington’s spectacular Christmas Countdown Event will take place on Thurs 30th November. The evening will feature a 2BR stage on Broadway with free entertainment from stars of Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice and band Black Lace. The fun will begin on stage at 5.15pm, and in addition to the live music show, there will be a special appearance from Accrington Stanley Football Club.
The Ballroom at Accrington Town Hall will host a Christmas Craft Market with carol singers, festive face painting and most importantly, Santa and his Elves.
Following the 2BR stage performances, there’ll be a spectacular firework extravaganza and the shops will stay open for a spot of late night Christmas shopping.
Please note: All visitors please be aware that the taxi rank on Union Street will be closed between 3 pm and 9 pm so therefore the taxis will be available on Church Street and Holme Street.

Warner St is set to travel back in time with the Warner St Christmas Event, on Thurs 14th December from 4-8pm featuring festive food and music, along with late night shopping and fairground rides.
