We are extremely proud to be sponsoring the Accrington Food & Culture Festival once again in 2023. We had such an incredible time last year, both on our stall and on the main stage and we could not resist doing it all over again.
Passionate about the communities which we work in, this is one of the stand-out events of the year and we are excited to have the chance to engage with our local community once again.
At 11:30 am our amazing Hospitality Tutor, Mark Chapman, will be on the main stage cooking a delicious recipe, which visitors to the festival can try on the day, before going home and having a go for themselves. This is going to be a real treat, so make sure you set a reminder on your phones!
We will also have our own stall, located near the main stage next to the grass area, where we will be decorating cupcakes throughout the day. We would love to invite you all to our stall to have a go at decorating our sweet treats for yourselves, before savouring the delicious cakes for free!
There will also be a number of other exciting food-related activities and attractions taking place throughout the day (10am-4pm) including more live cooking demonstrations on the stage from Molly Robbins and Paul Fox; free cooking sessions inside the Market Hall with Cook Stars; over 50 food stalls showcasing a terrific range of Lancashire produce and continental food; World Food play activity stalls in the Market Hall; and a big chocolate giveaway with Pendle Hill Properties at 2 pm.
It does not stop there, as throughout the day a fantastic range of cultural family events will also take place. There’s a selfie competition next to the ‘giant display of flags from around the world’ in the Market Hall; live acts inside the Market Hall including clog dancers, DHOL drummers and Nasheed Artist, Hussnain Hanif; and Hopscotch on the town square with a Roman foot soldier.
The annual D-Day commemoration will include a spectacular war re-enactment in the grounds of St James’ Church at 1pm, a Supermarine Spitfire flypast at 1:40 pm, live performances from 1940s singers Christopher and the Robins and military vehicles on the town square.
With free fairground rides, roaming performances from the fantastic ska band, Blowjangles, plus much more, this really is going to be a day to remember for Hyndburn.
See you all there!
