Studio are gifting soup to 2000 people this winter

Local Accrington company, Studio (Express Gifts Ltd.), are donating 2000 cups and soup packs to five local organisations this week in a bid to help feed the homeless and those in need.

The organisations who have been in receipt of the donation are: Our Food Bank, Great Harwood; Spacious Place, Burnley; Christ Church, Nelson; Thomas Project, Blackburn; and Maundy Relief, Accrington. Enough soup packs to benefit 400 service users will be donated to each organisation.

Sharon Benson, HR Director at Studio, commented:

“It’s incredibly important to Studio and its colleagues to support local organisations and charities. We have been saddened to learn just how many people on our own doorsteps – in Accrington and surrounding towns – are in need. We are proud to be supporting these organisations with our donations. Though we are an Accrington-based company it’s vital to open our help to neighbouring towns.”

Studio have been providing support to local charity, Maundy Relief, in various other ways including furniture donations to sell in their shop for the past year, and a recent food bank collection helped stock the shelves ahead of the Christmas season.

“We are very grateful to Studio for stepping up to support local organisations, including Maundy Relief. We are heavily reliant on the kindness of others to help feed our service users. We supply to a wide range of people including the homeless, families with young children, and pensioners. A hot comforting beverage will go a long way as winter approaches.”
